Jude is very happy when she gets a bike for her Birthday. Jude is worried because she does not know how to balance on the bike without the training wheels. What makes things worse is Sami who makes fun of her and shows off his skills on the bike.

What is Jude to do? As children grow, they are constantly faced with new skills to learn. This story is about learning a new skill and dealing with the difficulties that sometimes arise. It also celebrates success after perseverance.

It also deals with a gender issue. Sami makes fun of Jude when she falls off the bike and proclaims that girls can not learn to ride a bike like boys. Jude is furious and manages to prove him wrong at the end.
